The article is devoted to the consideration of factors influencing the choice of means and technologies of interaction of the investigator with the public during the investigation of crimes. The study revealed significant differences in the possibilities of transmission and provision of information by the media and communication. The paper considers the advantages of using the information and telecommunication Internet as a modern forensic means of interaction of the investigator with the public during the investigation of crimes. The author argues that the use of information and communication technologies in the process of interaction of the investigator with the public should take into account the following factors: the definition of the potential audience, the scale of the media and communication, the ability of information and communication technologies to quickly place and bring the material to its audience. The aim of the study is to improve the forensic tools and technologies of interaction between the investigator and the public.
