This article is devoted to the study of the possibilities of forensic examination as an important tool in the system of evidence. The work considers the main tasks solved within the framework of studies, analyzes modern methods and technical means used in expert practice. Particular attention is paid to the prospects for the development of examination in the context of technological progress and new challenges associated with the spread of digital technologies.
