Introduction: the authors have considered topical for modern criminalistics issues related to the problems of crime prevention from a criminology perspective. Materials and methods: the article is based on the classical and modern studies of the identified problem in criminology, the research is based on the methods of historical analysis of complex issues related to crime prevention from a criminology perspective. Results: the authors examined the historical aspects of crime prevention and their relationship with the current state of the criminological institute, the solution of the problem by modern criminologists. Summary and conclusion: on the basis of the conducted publication consideration of the issues of prevention from a criminology perspective, conclusions on the need for further in-depth consideration of the problems of investigative and expert crime prevention from a criminology perspective are drawn.
