The article is devoted to the disclosure of the concept of "financial pyramids", the analysis of modern investigative practice and interpretation of the norms of criminal and criminal procedure legislation, the identification of modern problems associated with obtaining evidence at the stage of verification of reports of a crime of this category and during the investigation of a criminal case. Currently, in Russia there is an increase in crimes committed on the principle of "financial pyramids", the damage from each crime is estimated in the hundreds of millions. At the same time, the specifics of the Commission of these crimes cause a certain difficulty in their identification and proof, which is the reason for sending a relatively small number of criminal cases to the court with an indictment. These problems are directly related to the imperfection and contradictions in the modern criminal procedure legislation.
