The article discusses the protection of public order and the provision of public security as a priority task of the internal affairs agencies in conducting mass cultural, sporting events and others. According to the unified deployment plan, the main function of protecting public order and ensuring public safety is assigned to the units of patrol and inspection service of police, the traffic police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, as well as the divisions and services of the Federal National Guard Troops Service. The role of the integrated approach of the internal affairs bodies in ensuring public order on the streets and in public places is determined, the practice of using joint patrol groups is analyzed using the example of the State Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Irkutsk region, and measures are proposed to improve this area of activity.
