In article the short characteristic of crime in the Irkutsk region is given, the key reasons it generating are described. The main existing directions of a profilakika of crime in the region and their shortcomings are considered. On the basis of the described features the main are offered, in the author's opinion the directions of improvement of work on prevention of crimes in the region.
