В статье рассматривается учебное пособие как эффективный способ оптимизации учебного процесса в условиях послевузовского курса иностранного языка. Обосновывается, что содержание учебного материала в пособии должно быть ориентировано на формирование дискурсивной компетенции, т.е. знание различных типов научно-профессионального дискурса и правил их построения, а также умение их создавать и понимать с учетом ситуации общения.

The theory of a textbook as an effective tool of optimizing educative process under the conditions of the post-graduate course of the English Language is considered in the article. It is proved that the content of the teaching material in the textbook should be aimed at forming discourse competence that is the knowledge of various types of scientific professional discourse and formation rules, as well as the capability to create and understand them due to communicative situation*.
