TY JOUR TI PROSPECTS FOR USING UNMANNED AERIAL VEHICLES IN THE DISCOVERY AND INVESTIGATION OF ILLEGAL FORESTRY LOGGING KW This article examines the potential of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in solving and investigating a specific crime KW such as illegal logging. The relevance of this study stems from the insufficient level of research and development in both theoretical and practical literature KW which poses challenges in effectively utilizing the wide range of capabilities available from this technology. The author thoroughly examines and explores the potential applications of UAVs KW taking into account their functionality in conducting raids KW organizing hot pursuits and searches KW conducting crime scene inspections and surveying areas KW delivering necessary cargo KW and monitoring an area or object through the lens of the specifics of combating illegal logging. The author concludes that this technology offers significant potential and addresses existing challenges for its active use KW aiming to decriminalize the forestry industry by improving the effectiveness of certain investigative actions and operational searches.
